You are invited to participate in “PraY4Kids Day” on Sunday 12.12.2021.
This Christian event is about the AWESOME PRIVILEGE & WONDER OF PERSONAL REPENTANCE & PRAYER!
It’s about humbly turning our hearts first to the Lord God Almighty, and secondly to our responsibilities as parents and adults to ‘raise up our kids in The Way they should go’, as followers of Jesus Christ.
This day is particularly for the post-WW2 generations; it’s a call to each of us to look inwards, to search our hearts and repent personally for our sins of commission and omission, as led by the Holy Spirit.
The Lord desires for individual hearts to humbly repent and turn back towards Him, in obedience and in joyful recognition of His amazing grace & everlasting love, and to commit our children into the hands of the Lord.
“The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying, “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love:
therefore with loving kindness have I drawn you.””
As is God’s way, there is no fixed format to this. It’s not about numbers, marketing campaigns, performances or rituals. It is a very simple concept and can take many forms, allowing individuals, family groups, churches, schools or workplaces the opportunity to 'pray for kids' in their own way.
The idea is to commit time from our busy schedules between 10-12noon on Sunday 12 December to thank God for blessing us with children, repent, and dedicate our children back to the Lord.
Prayers may be made in private or public, for short or long periods, as individuals or groups - in whatever way the Holy Spirit leads and according to each one’s level of faith. This event is not just for ‘prayer warriors’ but for all who believe, including all those Mums and Dads who may have a ‘mustard seed of faith’ and a heart to pray for their own kids and/or for all the kids of our nation generally. We invite all church leaders to dedicate their services to this theme on that day.
Of course, it is also fine to pray at other times, or all day, if this is how you feel led!! : ) For example, some church pastors may feel led to dedicate additional Sunday services to this theme; youth groups may also like to pray for younger kids at their Friday or Saturday night gatherings; schools may commit time at their weekly assemblies to pray for all the kids of their school and our nation.
PraY4Kids Day is an opportunity for all believers to purposefully stand ‘in one accord’:
(1) REJOICE in recognition of the Father’s heart for us as our Creator God and Saviour, to thank Him for our kids as we acknowledge all children to be a special gift and blessing of the LORD;
(2) REPENT of our own personal sins in relation to our own waywardness, for our failure to advocate sufficiently for the protection of our children, and for our failure to actively lead our children in The Way they should go (ie. by the Word of God and the ‘Living Word’, Who is Jesus Christ our Lord); and
(3) REQUEST God’s forgiveness, restoration and blessing as we REDEDICATE ourselves, our children and the children of our nation back to our Triune God.
[ Please note: This event is NOT ABOUT IDOLISING OUR CHILDREN. It is NOT about present-giving or parties, nor is it a secular equivalent to “Mother’s Day” or “Father’s Day”. ]
This simple yet vital event is a first step towards turning the hearts of our nation back to the Lord, ‘for good’.
May the Lord melt our hearts fully, so that as a nation we may be transformed by His Love and Grace. May God’s praises spring forth from the mouths of our infants and children, and may we see ‘young ones’ (under 35s) following after the Lord with zeal! May this prodigal nation long to know the Father’s heart, and return His love with wholehearted passion and holy devotion, as He so fully deserves – Malachi 4: 6 style.
May God bless you and your family as you participate in this Day, and as you invite others also to enter into God’s Spirit of Repentance for the ultimate benefit of the children of our nation! Thank you.
“My wayward children, says the LORD, “come back to Me, and I will heal your wayward hearts.
”Yes, we’re coming,” the people reply, “for You are the LORD our GOD”.”
